onOne Software is giving away a bunch of stuff, but only through Monday May 12th—so get your download on asap!

First, their Perfect Effects 8 Premium Edition, normally $100 is currently free. Nice!

Also, a couple of cool Aperture Effect Preset packs, called “Jacob Lucas Everyday Inspiration Presets for Apple Aperture” and “Perfect Presets for Apple Aperture” are free. Free is good! Grab ‘em here.

If you aren’t familiar with onOne Software, these are the guys that also make the awesome Perfect Photo Suite software, which acts as a standalone or plug-in to Aperture. Check out all their offerings here.

If you want to learn more about onOne, I discussed some of the modules in one of my lynda.com training videos, Artist in Action: Large Scale Black-and-White Photographs.

Enjoy!

When I downloaded Perfect Effects 8, it said it automatically added itself to Aperture as a plug in after failing to find Photoshop or Elements.  However, I’m not finding it in Adjustments>effects.  It is just loaded as an app.  Any idea how I can get it to load as a plug-in for Aperture?

Steve,

Not offhand, no. And I can’t download it where I am now (very limited bandwidth). Check the preferences, there may be a “install plugin” button?

Ah Ha! Got it figured out after going to ononesoftware site.  For anyone else needing to know…

Select a photo, then…

Photos>Edit With Plugin

or

Select a photo, then right click on photo and choose first option “Edit With Plugin”

You’ll see Perfect Effects 8 as one of the options to choose

Ah, right… didn’t realize that you just weren’t sure where to look for it. I thought you were looking there and not seeing the option, sorry!

Yeah, I was looking in for it in the adjustments tab>effects where the others were loaded.  I keep forgetting about looking in the plug-in selection….

Sweet! I hadn’t seen this before, just noticed it on the newsletter.

Thanks!!!!
